The Minnesota Geospatial Commons is a collaborative place for users and publishers of geospatial resources about Minnesota.

The cartographic boundary files are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the Census Bureau’s MAF/TIGER geographic database. These boundary files are specifically designed for small scale thematic mapping.

IPUMS Terra uses location-based integration to make population microdata, area-level data describing places, and spatially gridded raster data interoperable. IPUMS Terra data span the globe and extend over several decades.

The Data Hub showcases the most current national and state-level demographic, social, and economic facts about immigrants to the United States; as well as stock, flow, citizenship, net migration, and historical data for countries in Europe, North America, and beyond.

Migration data for the United States are based on year-to-year address changes reported on individual income tax returns filed with the IRS. They present migration patterns by State or by county for the entire United States and are available for inflows—the number of new residents who moved to a State or county and where they migrated from, and outflows—the number of residents leaving a State or county and where they went.

Global matrices of bilateral migrant stocks spanning the period 1960-2000, disaggregated by gender and based primarily on the foreign-born concept are presented.

The overall purpose of the Portal is to draw together key data and recent studies on migration globally, organized by theme, with a strong use of visualizations and interactive elements throughout.
